Pictures of you

Screen time

I click through your photographs

Each one a tiny sliver of a moment

A slice of memory caught in amber

I know every curve and line of you

Every expression and tilt of your head.

You are a familiar land to me

I study each image all the same

Willing your belladonna eyes to blink

Those lips to speak

That smile which hides a thousand wounds

The hollow of your neck I love to kiss

How your hair falls across your face

Pale skin on a field of colours…

Hours spent cycling through my assemblage of seconds

Letting my thoughts take wing

Like birds from a rooftop

Each picture steals time

Every click begs another

I like the ones we’re in together best

Each detail painted in light and hope

Just one more, then I must sleep
