Entitlement and the commuter
At the station, I watched a hipster in crepe-soled shoes
Abuse an already harried kiosk attendant because
His coffee wasn’t the exact right temperature
Apparently, to a hipster
The whole world’s a Starbucks
The girl behind the counter
Was young, an immigrant just trying to make
An honest crust
I’m guessing hip Narcissus
Hates Trump for his intolerance
Her polite smile never wavered
Below those anxious eyes
As she made his coffee twice
And the line behind him got longer
I missed my train and he was still bitching.
At least he gave me something to write about today.

Yes, and the girl behind the counter another pain-in-the-ass customer story.

I’m sure she could write a book.

The current iteration is particularly unctuous.
