The boatman’s call

All in a silent moment

Her fear

Is the bird that flies into the room

And can’t find its way out again

Circling

Circling

Striking surfaces

Deceived by mirrors

Panic ensuing

flying blind towards exhaustion

Fluttering

Fluttering

And finally settling  fluffed up

Heart racing

In some undusted corner

Dazed

And spent

Death in its eyes

Winding silently down towards resignation.
