Human touch

The absence of

The delicate cradle

Of a hand lightly held against your cheek

The whispering rasp of fingers

Drawing a line down the length of your arm

The goose-bump charge of

Those fingers sliding beneath your hair at the nape

A hot palm pressing

Against the cool skin in the small of your back

That instant of contact

When soft lipped mouths meet

And meld

Human touch

It is the glue that holds our sanity together

It is the thing which keeps us here

Keeps us from flying

Out of the world

And into the void

Words can be so very beautiful

But touch is the only universal language

No translator required.
